Is Hiring a Professional Organizer Worth the Money?

Family Handyman: Professional organizers can help you take back control of messy closets, an out-of-control pantry, and overwhelming clutter. But are their services worth the price? The answer depends on a few different factors, including your personal budget and how much organizing help you need (just one small closet, or the whole house?). And although a professional organizer cost isn’t exactly cheap, they can completely transform your home—in more ways than you might think.

It’s so interesting to me that people hire people to organize their homes. A place that is deeply personal with someone else changing the placement and organization of things is a thing that would send me into a spiral. This may be because I’m generally an organized person, some of it may look chaotic to someone that does not live inside the world that’s been curated inside my home, but I would be concerned that something was moved, and I would never find it again. I may be understanding and putting this too close to myself, but hiring someone to organize still blows my mind and at the rate that they were mentioning in the article is even more insane. Budget-wise this would always be a poor investment for me, the need to buy more storage solutions or any investments beyond paying the professional organizer to help work within the space that’s already curated seems like one could have just done it themselves, but it could be a time issue by the individual. Anyway after that little tirade people will hire what they need and maybe I need to look into becoming a professional organizer at those rates.

What I enjoy about this article is that it not only demonstrates helpful features for 3 D printing capabilities and increasing your ability to make sturdier parts, but it also shows that when we equip ourselves with more powerful tools with better capabilities at doing complex tasks, we gain new features that are as easy in some ways as the prior version (from the perspective of the printer and its run time per part) that otherwise would not have been possible or effective for us to have done in the first place. What I mean by this is that the article suggests a gear layout for the pin for the 3 D printing which is highly effective here as it occupies roughly the same volume and time while creating a much better and stronger part, but would not be very efficient or easy to do if hand making a similar part. As such, when we use more complex tools, we should look to go against our typical inclinations and see if there are more creative ways to achieve our tasks in a better way given the capabilities of these technologies.
