House Republican Bill Proposes Renaming Kennedy Center After President Trump
www.broadwayworld.com: The Hill reports that a new bill introduced in the House of Representatives would rename The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts as the 'Donald J. Trump Center for the Performing Arts,' marking a significant departure from the center’s historic association with President John F. Kennedy.

When I saw this I was so upset. I do not understand why or how this is what we are focusing our energy on right now. The whole Kennedy Center Trump thing is already upsetting enough, for the government to get involved with something like that organization and start to censor art is upsetting but to then go and rename it after yourself is just the cherry on top. I have never really understood why you would rename something especially when it was dedicated to someone for some particular reason. I think there are very few scenarios where it makes sense to rename a building and for the republican party to spend time proposing bills about this and not other things is honestly just baffling to me. I wish the government would stay out of the Kennedy Center and put their time and attention into more important things. It makes me really upset.
