I’ve noticed Light Sound Journal really seems to fluff up their articles with flowery language. “Pristine.. Exceptional.. Unmatched clarity and precision.. Powerful low-end performance” I spend a lot of time reading for minimal output. Whatever. It seems the great thing about these new monitors are they have more support for different protocols: Dante, ST 2110-30. I didn’t understand the term “SDI” they kept throwing around, so I researched it a bit. Apparently, its a digital interface like HDMI. It stands for “Serial Digital Interface” and is more professional than HDMI. It uses coaxial cables. When the article says the monitors have 12G-SDI support, they are talking about SDI that travels at 12gigabits per second. When they say the monitor “accommodates a wide array of input sources including SDI loop-outs”, they’re talking about a cable that is hardwired to an input connector, to send the signal back out of a device.
