Apple TV+ leads the 2025 SDSA Awards

My first reaction to this article title was fear of the further monopolization of the entertainment industry. With large companies getting larger and small theaters closing due to lack of funding and community support, I think it is important to lift up and empower smaller studios. However, after reading further, I found that these large platforms are also a huge chance for designers to receive the funding to fully realize their ideas. These opportunities should also be celebrated, if not for the company behind them, for the artists who have worked to get to a place where they can create elaborate designs without the limit of small production budgets. There is a fine line between considering the ethics of those you work for and ensuring that you have a roof over your head. Often, because of the lack of funding for arts in general, artists may be forced to compromise their ethics to progress their career. I am unsure if there is a true solution to this dilemma which often has such nuance, but going into a career in the arts, these ideas should be consistently reflected upon.
