Kennedy Center names new dance programming director, days after staff firings
NPR: A choreographer and former dancer with The Washington Ballet, Stephen Nakagawa, has been named the new head of the Kennedy Center's dance programming, days after the entire staff of the renowned performing arts institution's dance department was fired.

At a certain point firing leadership should be considered union busting. Hiring new leadership right after that has little to no management experience puts any new manager in a position where they are more worried about being ousted than fairly managing their department and their workers. This firing right around when a new budget is passed might be a part of back room deals where they are trying to push their new vision on the Kennedy center while stifling all other views. This is also a punch towards union organization and workers rights. As the federal government is a leader and example for the rest of businesses, this is at least an unintended consequence at signalling a warning to other pro union leaders and workers that their livelihoods will be in danger. The senate’s withholding funds until the Kennedy center is renamed is another push to erase memorials in remembrance of the United States darker past like the assassination of our own president.
