While I think it is tragic that Mr. Finn, someone who has worked at the Kennedy Center for nearly a decade, is resigning. I do really respect his decision to do so. It makes sense for someone with such dedication to the arts to not want to become complicit with Trump’s insistence on censorship and union busting. What Trump is doing in terms of censoring art to be deplorable and I could not be more disgusted. I think the shift to non-union actors speaks heavily to the direction the Kennedy Center is heading in. The article mentioned how Trump recently saw the musical Les Misérables at the Kennedy Center. I find Trump's affinity for the show painfully ironic. I mean the cognitive dissonance (or stupidity) it must take to be the head of an administration that has built its platform on cruelty, removing protections and support for the most vulnerable in our society, and see a show all about fighting injustice and not see that you are the villain.
