I enjoyed reading about the new exhibit at the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens because the article explains how there are many connections between this exhibit and others that are opening afterwards. In any industry, storytelling is so important, and I understand now how that can even apply to a Botanical Garden. Since I was born and raised in Florida, I also appreciate the escape that is described in order to get a break from the cold weather in Pittsburgh. The intentions of this exhibit are to transform people into another world and as someone familiar with the theatre industry, I see parallels between the two as a theatrical performance’s goal is also to transform the audience into a new world. I am curious how Phipps decides the layout of these exhibits and how to light them because much like theatre, they are creating a transformative space that has its own concept and design.
