Taking A Bite Out of off the WALL's "Mumburger"

Pittsburgh in the Round: Mumburger is billed as “A surreal new play about grief, parenting and alternative meat.” It certainly fits into the genre of surrealist art, but I’m going to focus on the themes of the play because if processing the play at face value, the themes may be masked by the offbeat characters and bizarre plot Kosar has created.

All I can say after that: Did I read that right? This sounds like a potentially amazing show! The premise is so wacky that I really commend the actors for being able to genuinely portray a father-daughter relationship steeped in grief as the author of the article claims they do while being saddled with such a strange plot. "Mumburger" aside, Off The WALL productions sounds like an amazing company! They produce brand new works that are, well, off the wall and unconventional. Considering how much old, conventional, and frankly overdone theater I have consumed in my life, this would be a welcome change. After checking out their website, I see that tickets are LITERALLY FIVE DOLLARS for students! It will take an hour to get there by bus, but it sounds worth it to me to see brand new theater for five dollars. I will be there this Saturday I think!
