Having lived in the NYC area all my live and a user of the TKTS operation, I find that this idea is a smart and appropriate idea to throw into the mix of TKTS. The lines are awful usually at all hours of the day and having this added ability at one's fingertips allows the easy accessibility to the booths. While this may annoy those whom have been waiting for tickets for hours by simply stepping in the line with this "fast pass", they soon would have the ability at their fingertips with a little more patience
I think this would be a great idea for making theater more accessible to everyone who want to see it. Issues with theater are usually that people dont like having to preorder tickets so far in advance as well as they no wanting to pay so much for good shows. There will always be people who have their biases toward theater but many people would be theater goers themselves if the conditions were right. And most people who gone to theaters once fall in love immediately and become avid theater goers. The first barrier is the hardest. This plan could open the doors of theater to many more people and spread the love for theater even further.
