Footage of Haunted Mansion's Hatbox Ghost finally surfaces after 44 years
Boing Boing: The Hatbox Ghost is the Great White Whale of Disney Haunted Mansion fandom, a remarkable spook-house effect (a ghost holding a hatbox has his head disappear and reappear in the box) that didn't work well in the ride.

Disney's secrets have been discussed and researched and theorized about for so long that it is amazing that this has finally surfaced. It is so fun for fans to see proof that after 44 years they weren't mistaken. There will still be conspiracy theories and other questions about where it went and why there is no record of it anymore, but for the fans, they now have a story to tell, something that they discovered together. I love hearing about these "Disney Secrets" and seeing whats become of them, and this is another story to add to the list. And who even knows if it is a secret or the files were lost or taken away because the attraction didn't work, but it is still fun to think about what might have happened all those years ago in Disney Land. It's such a magical place that discovering it's mysteries seems that much more difficult and important.
