GOODMAN: An open letter to theater lovers
Opinion - Press and Guide: At one time or another we have seen a clip from a 1930s Judy Garland-Mickey Rooney film when one of them says to the other: “Let’s get the kids together and put on a show.”
It’s easy to imagine that Henry Ford, as described in the Jan. 29 PBS “American Experience” program, saw the debut of one those movies at a private showing at his Fair Lane estate. One also could imagine, perhaps not as easily but with a healthy degree of realistic hope, that in 2013, with the backing of the right kids, a professional repertory company could be launched in Dearborn.

I think that this is a great idea. Being from the metro Detroit area, I frequent dearborn when i am home but never have i seen a show there. They have state of the art theaters and i think it is definitely time to put them to use. We are slowly but surely loosing our local theaters everywhere so it is always a pleasure to hear about new places and new shows. Cant wait to see one.
