Wow, what a product! For some reason this reminds me of the gel electrophoresis lab experiment we did in biology class back in high school, in which we sent an electric current through a gel in order to separate DNA fragments and figure out their charge. This, LumiLor, however, is about ten times beyond that, as it is a spray on liquid and would fit perfectly smoothly to practically any surface. I wonder how our production of Spring Awakening last month might have looked if we had used this product instead of LED surfaces to light up different props on the stage.
This is really cool, partly because it fills a niche for lighting that nothing else does. I'm loving watching the development of multi-surface lighting project that are easy to use and are more versatile then the usual methods. It seems like this and the lightstrings from earlier are both amazing attempts at filling this lighting niche. It's almost as if they were being developed for theatre, because practical lighting has always been difficult, but within a few years, I'll bet we'll see it everywhere.
