Carol King Jukebox Musical to Debut on Broadway in 2014
www.backstage.com: The music of Billy Joel, ABBA, and Green Day have all inspired Broadway adaptations of their work—and now the catalog of Carole King will join their ranks. “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical” is heading to Great White Way in spring 2014.

Really? I'm getting kind of tired of these star-biographical musicals. I don't even understand how the article compares Carole King the Musical to "Movin Out" with Billy Joel, "Mamma Mia" with ABBA, and "American Idiot" with Green Day. Those shows aren't about the lives of the musicians. They're stories using the music from those musicians. Yeah, the Bud Holly Story was ok, but the show also examines changes in society as rock n roll took over the music industry. Carole King, however, I don't think she made that big of an imprint in music history. I find this very annoying actually. I already hate how stars feel the need to write autobiographies when their fame starts to die out. It's absolutely ridiculous. WHO THE HELL CARES? I don't think this musical will do well on Broadway. If it does, we have got some issues.
