Class is in session: City Theatre's 'Seminar' offers lessons
TribLIVE: “Seminar” is a comedy for anybody who loves reading or writing, says City Theatre Company artistic director Tracy Brigden.
“It's a snappy, smart, funny contemporary play,” says Brigden, who also is directing Theresa Rebeck's comedy about four young writers and the literary superstar they hire to mentor them to greatness.

This is a wonderful play that I believe everyone that wishes to go into the field of entertainment should try and see at some point. The lesson I think is most valuable in this script, is that in the world of entertainment one can easily see that the quickest way to get ahead and be successful is to have a name. Whether that be your family name or the name of someone already successful, some sort of connection is needed. Of course it is still possible for some one that just has pure talent with no connections to get ahead, but as the playwright shows us, that person might be met with rejection and anger from those established already.
(yes I'm including writing in the "entertainment business", because that's what it is intended for, to entertain)
