Lindsay Mendez Talks About ‘Dogfight’
NYTimes.com: LINDSAY MENDEZ was putting her powerful pipes to good use, giving full throttle performances of “Bless the Lord“ in the recent Broadway revival of “Godspell” when she was cast in the new musical “Dogfight.” Leave a Broadway show for Off Broadway and play a character everyone thinks is ugly? But of course! Ms. Mendez felt lucky to have the chance to originate a role, though, and her touching performance in “Dogfight,” based on the 1991 movie starring River Phoenix and Lili Taylor, about some Marines’ callous who-can-find-the-homeliest-date contest, has made plenty of theatergoers feel fortunate too.
