It is interesting that they are setting up the article that you can build electronics but in truth they are really trying to sell themselves doing the work. In the college theater world, with the shorter timelines, it seems that making it yourself would be the one that would be utilized best. But in the commercial world you would definitely want to shop this out because it is not something that a professional scene shop would want to make. Probably in the future you will find a lot of shops that are doing this type of work all the time, since there are already places starting this type of work. I am really interested to see where this goes in the future.
