Use the First 30 Minutes of Your Workday to Maximize Productivity

lifehacker.com: No one likes 9 AM. It's early, we're tired and we still have hours of work ahead of us. But we're not the only ones who get off to a slow start. Everyone in the office—bosses included—is in their own world for the first 30 minutes of the workday. Rarely does anyone disturb us or give us a huge task that early in the morning. No, those precious 30 minutes are all ours. And if we use them properly, the rest of the day can be more productive.

First of all, I do like 9AM, but that is besides the point. Strangely, this short little article has some great ideas. I have always been an advocate of taking time for yourself. Everyone, is always complaining that they are too busy, too tired, too grumpy, to do anything for themselves; like read a book or go to the gym. But in this day and age when everything we do is so geared toward work work work, it is so important to make time for yourself. I think that this article does it in a smart way because, most peole with an office job, can take the first half hour of their day to drink their coffee and read the news.

I have read multiple things in the past few months that suggest the same thing as this article. I do find that when I wake up and take the first part of my morning to relax and not jump right into something, that the rest of my day usually goes smoother and my attitude and mood are greatly improved. However, even though I know this, I still find myself having a lot of trouble implementing it on a daily basis. When my alarm goes off, if I know I don't have to be somewhere immediately, I have trouble convincing myself that it is worth getting up and not just hitting snooze until I actually NEED to get up. This is definitely something I am going to try to work into my daily schedule though.
