Mike Birbiglia Brings ‘Sleepwalk With Me’ to the Big Screen
NYTimes.com: SEVERAL years ago, Mike Birbiglia was sitting in an office in Los Angeles when he heard what might be the most beautiful words that a president of a television network can say to a comedian: “You’re the next Seinfeld.”

Mike Birbiglia is my favorite comedian and I am an inappropriate amount of psyched for this movie. I have a friend who interviewed him, and apparently he is as interesting and accessibly human in person as he is on stage.
Stand-up is a fascinating art. I went to a stand-up practice comedy club in new york, where it was all comedians trying out new jokes on each other. I watched them make tiny word choice differences, shorten or lengthen a pause, or perfect a facial expression, while still attempting to sound as if the audience is their best friend and they're telling the story for the first time. You can see the same things if you watch many different retellings of famous bits over the years. (I have too much time on my hands).
