What Theatre Majors Learn. What can you "do" with a theatre major? Plenty!!
lecatr.people.wm.edu: Of course theatre majors can "do" theatre. But they also develop a neatly large number of highly valuable skills that make them valuable employees for any job. This article seeks to help you recognize your special advantages as a theatre major....more advantages than almost all other liberal arts grads have. In somewhat different form, this was first published in Dramatics magazine. It has since been re-printed in various other publications, and it also appears on internet sites hosted by colleges and universities. I am deeply appreciative to learn that many college theatre departments also have posted it on their bulletin boards. I've gotten interesting letters. For all that, thank you!

I believe this article says it all! I can not begin to say how accurate I feel that this is. Even if you move on to a career that does not have to do with theatre, every skill that was learned in theatre training will certainly help you with your future. One of these skills that sticks out to me is being able to work in groups. Someone may be extremely intelligent, but if they do not work well with others who would ever want to work with them. Process's like crew absolutely teach you that no solid result is possible in theatre with only one person.
