It's great to see a female producer being highlighted, especially in a movie with such a strong female lead. Having read the books and seen the movie, the commitment to maintaining the integrity of the original books was clear. The books themselves are very cinematic, which made me look forward to the adaptation. Though I approached it with some cautn since I've been so disappointed with movie adaptations of other favorite books of mine in the past, here the changes that were made lent themselves to the medium-it was a better movie because they allowed it to flow. This was a great article to read after seeing the movie, and only furthers how impressed I was with the commitment to making both a faithful adaptation of the books and a work that can stand alone as cinema while still appealing to the fans.
Nina Jacobsen gives some great advice when it comes to film making. So much pressure from so many people all who have influence on your paycheck it is easy to get lost but she has a great mindset that has obviously worked well for her. Make a movie that you want to see. If you spend your life trying to figure out what everyone else wants all your going to listen to is what everyone else didn't get. If you make a movie you want to see your only concern is what ideas you have. and once your done it is easier to be open to both the criticism and the compliments.
