I am a fan of the Vari-Lite CYM color mixing. I have not worked with a fixture that produces colors as well as the Vari-Lite fixtures I have worked with. In second place, I am also a fan of any Color Kinetics product. It seems that Phillips has figured out color mixing quite well. On the contrary I cant say I have been please with Martin product color mixing, but every time I have used any of their fixtures I am surprised with how bright they end up being.
I would be really interested to see an actual plot for this show. I can't imagine how one design can fit all of those moving lights and conventionals into a single plot, even if it is a broadway musical. The only thing I can think to compare this to would be a huge rock concert. I would be interested to see how these lights actually fit into the show.
I was surprised by the variety of the different moving light companies on the list. It seems that a high profile show such as this would have looked for some sort of unified automated light fixture manufacturer. I also love the fact that this high budget show still uses the simple tried and true conventional fixtures that one will see anywhere. MR-16s, pars and source fours still have their place in this over complicated world.
Holy crap this looks like a boat load of lights. However, I do not light a lot of Broadway shows so I do not have a frame of reference of witch to compare. I wonder about other shows have a similar list but they are not published since they are not on shows where the technicality is the headline. I am so surprised that in an age of intelligent lighting that they used any conventional units at all AND I would like to compare this list to the Bon Jovi tour rig for comparison.
