Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: That roving band of actors known as Pittsburgh Shakespeare in the Parks returns for its seventh season with a production of the playwright's most farcical comedy "Merry Wives of Windsor."
"We like to do the comedies, and 'Merry Wives' is a very good show for women," says Jennifer Tober, company founder and artistic director.

What about if it rains? :(
I am really fascinated to see how the gender benders will affect the story line. Director Costello says he is using the mixed lines and actions to form "a clearer, crisper play." It will be interesting to see how the work becomes crisper and how meanings change through unconventional casting and script mixing.
In addition to the unconventional gender and script, the three week run moves around, which is a great way for Shakespeare in the Park to achieve their goal of bringing Shakespeare to the people and communities in Pittsburgh. I am just glad I did not miss the one in Squirrel Hill; maybe I will have time to see it since it is free.
