The REP launches a season of firsts with A Child's Guide to Heresy
Pittsburgh City Paper: Point Park's professional theater company, the REP, has staged plenty of world premieres. In 2009, for instance, it debuted Thom Thomas's drama A Moon to Dance By, starring stage icon Jane Alexander, later produced at New Jersey's George Street Playhouse. And it's staged several world premieres by Pittsburgh's own Tammy Ryan, whose works have been produced across the country.

I find this article very endearing. I love period pieces and this one seems to come with an extra twist: to combine fairy tales and a period piece together. The thought of this excites me very much, and to think of the large scale production it is being created on makes the final outcome that much more adventurous. Perhaps the most interesting piece of information in this article is that the author himself will also be starring as an actor in the show. This is such an odd concept for me because, in most cases, works being performed around the country are most commonly without interaction from the playwright, let alone a performance from him in the show. This sounds like it will turn out amazingly creative and exciting and is one I would love to see!
