Footlights adds plenty of laughs to 'Cinderella'

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: A touch of humor will add a comedic twist to the classic rags-to-riches fairy tale of a poor cinder maid who becomes a princess when the Valley Players of Ligonier perform "Cinderella" this weekend as part of their Footlights Children's Theater series.
The plot stays true to the traditional story of a girl mistreated by her nasty stepmother and stepsisters until a fairy godmother grants her wish to attend the prince's ball.

I must say, I was a little disappointed when I found out that this production was not in fact the original Rodgers and Hammerstein Musical: I am absolutely in love with that production, the music, costumes, everything! Nevertheless, I still think that Cinderella is a nice show to perform, I am always one for fables and fairytales being put to theater. I'm sure that there are many ways to add humor to this tale, and hope for the best for this children's theater!
