Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: Contrary to its title, "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)" is not a 17th-century literature refresher course.
It's a lot more fun, according to Nate Newell of Greensburg, who directs the comedy opening this week at Apple Hill Playhouse.
"You can definitely enjoy this show, even if you are not uber-familiar with Shakespeare," he says. "The entire show 'goofs' on Shakespeare's works. It is a satire on some of the longest-standing writing in literary history."
