Lightwave Lasers Brighten Arizona Mountain During Fiesta Bowl

PLSN: "Nike rallied to the support of the University of Oregon's football team, the Ducks, commissioning Lightwave International's laser projections from the 2011 Fiesta Bowl stadium grounds to the face of a mountain about two miles away.
The rocky face of Camelback Mountain served as a projection canvas for a laser light show, with images hundreds of feet wide including the Nike Swoosh, the phrase, 'Just Do It,' and the 'O' logo for the Ducks.

George Dodworth should be commended for his insight to make sure that the laser was able to be seen clearly by both human eyes AND cameras. The fact that he was concerned with ensuring "th success of the laser show's viral potential on the Internet" shows that this is a man that understands the importance of the internet and sites such as Youtube. Video sharing sites have such a profound impact on today's society and it's refreshing to know that there are people of importance in the entertainment industry that have come to recognize and embrace this fact.

This is amazing that they can shoot from that far away on to a mountain range. It is interesting that they had a problem with the rock taking in too much yellow light. I would love to see something like this in person. The images seem cool. I think that you can’t really get the scale without seeing this in person. I would love for this company to come to Pittsburgh and see them work possibly across the river onto our hills. It would also be great to see the equipment they use to do this. When they talk about all of this different equipment that they are using I wonder how large it is and how much power it takes to run a show like this. Another thing is how long did it take them to program and set this up? Many questions come to mind but very interesting.
