Theater project 'Yinzerspielen'merges two schools of acting

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "On Wednesday, a two-year, cross-cultural collaboration between German and American theater students comes to fruition with the opening of 'Yinzerspielen' in Oakland.
'Yinzerspielen' combines the Pittsburghese term for 'you guys' with the German word 'spielen,' which means 'to play,' including in the sense of 'to play on the stage' as an actor."

I think the idea of a cross-cultural theatre program is great because its really vital to study the history, culture of theatre not only in the states but abroad, personally, I really want to study abroad before I graduate because there is probably so much going on in theatre internationally that we aren't exposed to in the US, in terms of not only acting but design. I find it really interesting too that actors found differences in their techniques not only between german and american actors but between german actors taught by different mentors, which is all the more reason to study abroad
