Collaboraction in Chicago Lures Wary Theatergoers With Money-Back Guarantee

NYTimes.com: "Are customers always right — even if they want their money back after seeing a play? That’s the question that’s stirring chatter in Chicago, where a production recently offered to refund the full cost of a ticket to any unsatisfied patron."

I can see why people are against giving refunds for theater, but at the same I think that it's a great idea. Not only does it convince people that might be debating whether or not to come see shows for fear of not knowing what they are getting into, but it also forces those who don't enjoy the performance to explain why they didn't. It provides feedback to the performers and designers as well as bringing in a larger audience.

This is ludicrous! It is ban business. I liked the idea of the foundation giving money to keep the tickets low. You will never be able to please all of the public all of the time and there are always those people out there trying to work the system.

Oh Cody, always the idealist.

I agree with Cody... I think that this is kind of a ridiculous idea. You can not expect to be one hundred percent satisfied all the time. By making the decision to buy tickets and go see a show, you are assuming the risk that you might not get what you were necessarily expecting.
