At the New York Comedy Festival, Writers and Comedians Ponder a New Climate for Political Humor

NYTimes.com: "MORE than an hour into a contentious discussion on Wednesday night at the 92nd Street Y, where panelists like the “Daily Show” co-creator Lizz Winstead, the sitcom star Roseanne Barr and the Fox News commentator Monica Crowley had been debating the outcome of Tuesday’s election and how an Obama administration might address the economy and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, a few restless audience members began adding their voices to the fray."

I think it was important that they held this conference. Most people in the arts (and especially the ones there) have strong political feelings. They make fun of everyone though. But it is a sticky situation, poking fun of Obama is not nearly as funny yet as a Palin impersonator was. But as they said, it is because we have not learned of his idiosynchracies. He ran a very tight, well done campaign. So the jokes will come with time... everyond does something stupid.
