It’s Not Beijing, but at the Spiegeltent, Four Russian Gymnasts Show Skills and Showmanship
NYTimes.com: "The four, all teenagers, are the latest and perhaps unlikeliest stars of “Désir,” the new production at the Spiegeltent, the seasonal entertainment site on a pier at the South Street Seaport. Having spent most of their lives at an academy that breeds Olympic-caliber stars, they now find themselves on a 10-foot circular stage, competing not for points but for the attention of seen-it-all New York audiences as they tumble and balance and somersault and flex in ever more outlandish costumes. They get one day off a week and bunk together in a two-bedroom loft in Lower Manhattan — without a live-in chaperone. Their friends are so beyond jealous."
