Debunking The Myth of Multitasking

I'm glad that other people think its a myth. Some people talk about being good at multi-tasking, but I could never justify to myself why I wasn't good at it. I'm good at other things...like cooking...which could be considered multitasking I guess. I was always disappointed that I couldn't text and hold a conversation, but I'm glad I cant...because thats rude.

I have never been able to multitask. It always seemed like everyone could do multiple things at once and were really annoyed that I couldn't talk on the phone and talk to another person at the same time. I can do two things at once, but they will both come out very badly. I'm glad I'm not the only one out there that lacks this imaginary "skill".
Our brains can't multitask efficiently. It's a pretty simple reality. Ever since I watched the Inbox Zero video on Google, I've realized how many distractions, such as email, can be passed off as multitasking. They simply impede progress.
Multitasking also leads to me not paying attention to the tasks at hand, and thus, I make more errors than if I just sat down and did the tasks individually.
