New York Post: "The coming showdown between 'Gypsy' and 'South Pacific' is going to rip open a long-simmering dispute between commercial producers and nonprofit theater companies."
It's interesting to get a deeper look into the Tony's because I never realized all the details rules that went into a nomination. I have to agree with the journalist though that Laurnat may be repeating the show, but his maginificant work with different actresses is hardly repeating yourself. Besides, I'd feel pretty shitty being the director they nominated because they couldn't nominate Laruent. It's like being sloppy left overs. What I'd really like to learn more about are the Tony awards in regards to commercial theatre and non-profits.
