Kobalt’s Thru-Ratchet Gets Over Long Bolts
Toolmonger: "These sockets work where deep sockets just aren’t deep enough. Kobalt’s Thru-Ratchet sockets and ratchets are hollow down the center, so they can fit over any length of bolt. In a lot of cases you could get the same performance out of your ratcheting wrenches, but this system allows you to get into deep recesses that would otherwise be inaccessible."

I'm a fan, even though many times a wrench or ratcheting wrench would be just as appropriate in this situation, sometimes you just need that socket to get the right angle and now you are not limited by the depth of the socket keeping you from reaching your nut.
Nifty.
I wonder if you'll start seeing electricians using these rather than box end wrenches. I spent a lot of time in high school trying to find a local hardware store that sold non-stupid sized ones for electrical work. I wonder if Kobalt has a hassle free lifetime warranty like Craftsman (non stupid box end wrench), though..
There are few times that it is necessary to have the bolt go all the way through the end of the ratchet, but for those special occasions, this would be great. The only possible downside that I foresee, is that the center pass through is not wide enough to fit bolts of a certain diameter and up. I am sure that for most of our bolting needs, this would be a nifty set to have around for those special occasions.
