Money for the arts goes up in smoke

Show Business Weekly: "BAM president Karen Brooks Hopkins told the New York Times that she was “stunned” when she first heard that Altria would discontinue its funding. The company donated $375,000 to BAM last year and has been the primary backer of the academy’s popular Next Wave Festival since it began in 1983."
