Stage Review: Festival showcases student playwrights
Post Gazette: "Of Pittsburgh's annual one-act play fests, City Theatre's Young Playwrights Festival is the most professionally run. It's also the most gratifying, because no matter the quality, who can fail to be impressed, since it's the work of middle and high school students?"

i hope to god these are good.
a buddy of mine who now goes to Fordham had his place produced there, and good god it was awful. I'm glad kids are getting to see their pieces worked and their voices heard though. Who knows, maybe the shows are good, who the hell am i to judge? What bothers me though is that we can't participate in these shows. It's a fabulous opportunity that us CMU actors and designers and such are missing out on. Money wise too...the "no working outside production" thing is getting a tad old, yes? You can only learn acting for so long before you need to just get up there and do it.
