Fire Threatens 70-Year-Old Theatre Tradition

It's so unfortunate. Thank God, the amphitheatre and sets were not damaged, but 800 costumes...gone. That is such a loss. 80% of their costumes just destroyed. Though they clearly cannot be replaced - as all of those costumes were one of a kind, hopefully they can replenish their store, somewhat at least.
Something I never would have thought of doing ahead, but that is such a good idea is keeping full photo documentation at a separate location. Thats very unfortunate that they lost 80% of their costumes but it is nice to know that the countries longest running outdoor production will continue on next year.
OH NO not the costumes! how did that happen nothing else was destroyed but the costumes? Wow how much countless hours of sewing and tailoring all gone to trash! That just sucks. Now the misery it must take to replace all the costumes before the 2008 season.
