'Pirate' tests waters of Web marketing
Variety.com: "The producers of 'The Pirate Queen,' the new musical from 'Les Miserables' creative duo Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg, are ramping up the show's Castcom, a video diary of the tuner's development that was updated daily on the Web during the show's fall tryout in Chicago."

Broadway is finally catching on to the marketing techniques of which the music and film industries have been taking advantage. It's a brilliant idea, and will probably bring a new audience to the show. I especially like the fact that videos can be downloaded onto your iPod. What better way to show your friends about that new musical you just saw?
On the downside, it was a bit slow in loading and the quality of the video is not that great.
