Rose Brand Offers $10,000 Main Stage Curtain as Prize in Rags to Riches Video Contest

Stage Directions : Rose Brand launched a new competition, The Rags to Riches video contest, that challenges theatres to create a short video (under 1 minute) explaining why their stage is most deserving of a new curtain. Videos will be featured on the Rose Brand Pinterest and Vimeo pages and the one with the best combination of creativity and entertainment (as judged by Rose Brand) along with likes, shares and organizational need will win a new main curtain worth up to $10,000 for their theatre. The deadline is Nov. 7, 2014.

It's really nice to see companies that are still willing to give back to their industries. More than that even, it is a great marketing strategy for Rosebrand, one that will bring them many future clients.

Personally, I believe we should enter this contest ourselves. Now, before you go and set me straight with a multitude of reasons as to why the Chosky has a beautiful main drape, let me assure you that I do not see the status of our current main drape as a blight on our stage. Instead, my attention is focused squarely on our off-campus location over in Point Breeze, the famous Studio 201.

Noting that the contest calls for the submission with the "best combination of creativity and entertainment", I propose a video of our own showing how the enormity of Studio 201 would be better managed by a new and daring pipe-and-drape system. If we play our cards right, I think we could convince Rosebrand to give us that instead of a main curtain. The freshness and ingenuity of the proposition is right up their alley, or at least thats the sense I get from them from reading this article and the countless conversations I've had with their super helpful and informative representatives.

I think this Rose Brand has come up with another CSR ideas which is always nice. Many large companies around the world need CSR to promote themselves and create their image as companies that concerns and care about society and willing to give back to people whenever they can. It's a very basic marketing strategy, so whoever win that contest and received that curtain from Rose Brand will have their beautiful curtain hanging in the theatre and everytime before the show starts the audiences will be sitting there waiting while looking at Rose Brand logo on the curtain. This also a very easy way to create awareness to people outside theatre field and expand their base. I think this is smart. Good Job Rose Brand
