It is incredible that students in Point Park University's Conservatory of Performing Arts program get to work alongside Broadway and entertainment industry professionals to build a musical from the ground up. I can’t imagine how much more insight this would provide into understanding how things are done in the industry, as well as the expanded experiences and strengthened skills students would gain from this. I am curious about why and how this collaboration came about, and it also got me wondering whether the students would have much of a say or participate in the leadership and decision-making stages of the process, rather than merely being involved in the construction stages and doing what they are told. Though I do wish CMU also had opportunities like this. In the end, this new musical sounds really exciting and appealing, with all the energetic music and songs, and I can’t wait to read more about it once they begin showing it!
