▶️ Meyer Sound Celebrates 40-Year Partnership As Montreux Jazz Festival Turns 60
Live Design Online: When Claude Nobs met John and Helen Meyer in Switzerland in the 1970s, he was already a decade into building what would become one of the world’s great music festivals. John was directing the acoustics laboratory at the Institute for Advanced Musical Studies; Nobs had built Montreux Jazz around the conviction that sound was as central to the experience as the music itself.

I think it’s wild that there are partnerships out there in events that have lasted for decades. This is one case of such a relationship. Meyer sound is a huge player in the professional audio industry with equipment all over the world, providing top of the line sound to events, tours, theatres, corporate events, and more. They have made countless contributions to the audio industry with their equipment and development in technology. I appreciate that though all of the advancements made in audio and events as a whole, that their relationship has stayed strong and consistent the entire way. Constantly updating and integrating new audio equipment into the event is what makes this partnership thrive. I would love to learn more about the early days of the jazz festival and how Meyer originally tackled the project back in the 70s. I think there is a lot to learn from previous work and how people have built connections that have lasted for ages.
