Drama League Awards announces 2026 nominees

www.broadwaynews.com: The Drama League has announced the nominees for its 92nd annual Drama League Awards. Nominees were announced on April 20 by Natalie Venetia Belcon, who won a Tony Award in 2025 for her performance in “Buena Vista Social Club,” and Corbin Bleu, who currently appears in Broadway’s “Great Gatsby,” in a livestreamed ceremony from the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.

The range of these shows in these people and these plays nominated is insane. There are so many plays and musicals that I did not know were happening right now. I also didn't know that Off Broadway shows could get a Drama League Award nomination, so that's super cool as well. I always love to see it when there are CMU alumni getting nominations or shows with CMU alumni getting nominations, so like seeing Bigfoot and Joe Turner's Come and Gone makes me super excited. Shows like Ragtime or shows that I definitely expected to get a nomination, and I still haven't seen that yet, so I'm hoping to, and I'm also super happy to see that Kara Young got a nomination because they are one of the most phenomenal actors I've ever seen perform on a stage. I'm looking forward to this year's Drama League Awards and to seeing the range of shows and performances that get to take home these awards this year.
