NAB Show 2026 Preview: Trends, AI, Exhibitors & What to See
www.productionhub.com: Every year around this time, I find myself asking the same question: What’s going to happen at NAB this year? So I reach out to friends and industry colleagues and ask a few tough questions: What’s your favorite part of NAB? What keeps you coming back year after year?

It feels like NAB has been flooding my feeds over the past couple of days, given that the conference is happening right now. While I don’t directly follow the core technologies of the broadcast industry, I have heard a lot about things that have been presented on the floor form adjacent industries, particularly lighting. In comparison to a conference like USITT that is primarily focused to theatrical endeavors with fairly low budgets and non-profit work, it feels like NAB is much more about the big for-profit productions who are willing to spend a lot of money, if they can be convinced that it will actually pay off and lead to a profit. One concern I have is that it seems like the biggest place that companies are looking for profit is AI, and I hope that trend can be considered thoughtfully, and not just following the trends that are being very hard by the AI lobby.
