Oracle Red Bull Racing installs 'record-breaking' LED wall
www.avinteractive.com: PPDS has completed a “record-breaking” installation of a 46.25 x 2.75 metre dvLED wall inside the global HQ of Formula One giant, Oracle Red Bull Racing (ORBR).
The installation is the largest known indoor dvLED wall to feature in an events venue in Europe and is PPDS ‘ biggest installation (by size) to date.

I feel like this article is really hyping up this LED wall when it's just the largest one indoors in Europe. The headline even says “is believed” so it’s not even confirmed it's just the largest one PPDS has done so far. I hate LED walls because they give me headaches and are a sad replacement of real scenery/displays. I think it is cool how they cable managed though, I could see how quickly the amount of wires and cables could become a mess. I saw a fashion show and while the models and clothes were gorgeous there was this big LED screen wall behind them that just took the attention away from the talent. I imagine the car display was viewed as second to the massive screen stretching above them–that’s certainly what I thought when looking at the cover photo. In fact I had to zoom in to see the race cars under the literal rectangular sun above them.
This is a very interesting topic to me because how much time I’ve invested into learning all I can about lights, how they function, how you can use them creatively, and what their role is in the theare and entertainment world. The LED wall this article talks about is the largest to date, with lots of amenities and additions that make running and maintenance a breeze despite its size. The amount that people are doing to push toward innovation and new technology in our world inspires me every day to continue learning more about theare and the technology around lights and sound. Huge installations of lighting elements like that show me how much more can be done in the world of theatre and entertainment. There is no end to it, where we have done everything and can just go home. There is always some other project that we can do and make even more incredible technology for, which is why I love the entertainment industry so much.
