The fact that Texas Medal of Arts Awards brings awareness to arts funding is important in itself but also the fact that it brings so many ways of art to the forefront is also important. I grew up in Florida in their theater world but knew about these awards in 2019 because of Neiman Marcus's involvement with them. I had done multiple projects with Neiman Marcus in Tampa and they were always a big supporter in the arts in schools. The Texas Medal of Arts Awards are not only funding the arts in schools but they are helping the community grow through art. Which in my mind is what art is truly about, raising a community as a whole. These awards have such a variety of different categories to be nominated in. I feel like this really shows the community and students, how many jobs are available in the art world. These awards give younger generations the chance to see there is a place for everyone in the art community. Even though The Texas Medal of Arts Awards are focused on showing the Texas community how powerful art is, hopefully there are more awards like this through every state at some point in time.
