I'm glad to hear that Disney and Pixar are no longer trying to find loopholes to avoid homophobia in the world. In the past, with films like the live-action beauty and the beast, Disney ensured that the claimed "queer scenes" could be played off like close friends or otherwise. I'm really interested to see if now, since Disney is not cutting or changing films in their studios for homophobic viewers if the allies in those countries will stand up and fight against the censorship board during future releases. Although knowing that the government does take severe action against the individuals who support LGBT media, I fear it is less likely than I may hope. Luckily, since Netflix, TikTok, and Disney+ are still outside the control of the Malaysian government, I feel the allyship will still grow within the country as more people are introduced to a perspective of acceptance online.
