Natalie Portman Apple TV Show “Threat” Details Updated by Police

The Hollywood Reporter: When the story first broke Saturday, The Baltimore Banner, quoting police sources, reported that production sources had claimed the show’s “cast and crew” were threatened by a group of Baltimore “drug dealers” on Friday afternoon who brandished a firearm and demanded $50,000 to allow the production to continue filming or that somebody would be shot. The “producers” on set refused to pay.

I like to pride myself on the fact that I am pretty up to date in pop culture and celebrity news. That being said, I had zero idea that this was happening. It does not surprise me, now reading this article, that story changed significantly. The first break of a story is always meant to be a scandalous and eye-catching one and then all of the details are ironed out. The weird thing about this is that there are SO MANY conflicting stories that it is almost unbelievable. There is a strong chance that this whole story was a made up publicity stunt. Apple TV not making a comment about the situation either, just adds to that theory. Natalie Portman should be famous enough that her show does not need these fake extortion threats but the media teams will do anything these days for their television series to gain interest and trend online.
