Seeing as no one else has commented on this yet and I'll be shocked if anyone else does, I'll be the one to do it. This headline unlocked a full vault of memories for me. My mom and I were huge America's Got Talent fans for a while, and we even went to one of the recordings at Radio City Music Hall. Out of all of the acts of every season we watched, my favorite by far was Piff the Magic Dragon. I was a pre-teen, he was a dry-humored grown man in a dragon costume with a small dog, what's not to love? I thought it was the funniest thing in the world. One day, I was out with my parents, and we saw that Piff was doing a show at a theater nearby, so we got tickets immediately. I brought a friend, whom I now pity for the strange experience they must have had to sit through, and half the jokes were far too mature for me. But, I did take a picture with him and the dog, so it was all worth it in the end. I am very happy to see that he has continued to succeed in a harsh world.
I am a little confused with the order of Vegas shows here, seeing I just read an article about the Wynn and their show being the only show to happen on the Strip (though I am not familiar with the Vegas lay out). It was nice to read about the safety precautions that are being taken, as well as the seating arrangements for "Absinthe", as I learned the max gathering occupancy in Nevada is 250 people. I would like to see how Piff was able to modify the audience interaction that the performance is said to have, and whether or not it changes the show at all. It seems that from the article a lot of shows of this type will need to make changes to their performances and I do wonder if this will be the new normal for them or whether they will go back to their original style at a later date.
Wow I had not read the name "Piff the Magic Dragon" in so long. I had no idea what happened to Piff after America's Got Talent but I am so happy to know that he has his own show in Las Vegas. It is crazy to think that he is now so successful that he is one of the first shows to return in these times. I really appreciated how this article went into detail about how safety precautions would be taken in order to return the life to Las Vegas responsibly. From the plans mentioned here, about cabaret style seating, temperature checks, table service, mandatory masks, and outdoor tent setting, I think that this is a super well thought out plan with its own set of calculated risks. Every article I reading about something returning to the stage makes me so happy but also a little bit nervous, so it is nice to read all of the plans people are making to continue the deliverance of live peformance.
