While this is very sad, it almost doesn't seem surprising to me. This is for a couple reasons. One, I know that Cirque du Soleil has had a little bit of money issues since Guy Laliberte sold most of it to a few different investment groups in 2015. It is rumored that Cirque du Soleil is around 900 million dollars in debt at this point. The second reason, on the top of my head, has to do with the current situation. Having recently lost millions on both the NFL Experience, and R.U.N. in Vegas, Cirque du Soleil was not completely financially ready for the new Coronavirus world. This all being said, this is still extremely sad. Cirque du Soleil has been providing extremely fun, dazzling, imaginative worlds with their shows for years, and it would truly be a loss to the entertainment world if they are not able to bounce back from this.
