I love classical literature, and though while I've never read Moby Dick I've heard how long an undertaking it is. Most people in my generation just don't want to read books that long, and the rare few who do can still be discouraged. This Opera seems like a great way to not only breathe some new life back into an old story, but also to make both the old and the new generation of readers more interested in the classics. It simplifies the story and turns it into something more entertaining and interesting than reading 135 chapters on a page - seeing the characters come to life gives a greater connection to the viewer and will help people to maybe think about reading the book themselves in the future, with that strong vivid image in their mind while they do. It may even inspire people to read other classic works with some new perspective on what they could be.
