Prof. Diana Derval | LinkedIn: Given the sudden interest for the color of dresses and vision, here some of the fascinating findings we did recently.
The color nuances we see depend on the number and distribution of cones (=color receptors) in our eye

So after reading this I was able to see 38 colors out of 39 and that seems to be pretty good for me. I was proud to be in the group that is 25% of the population. Then I did this experiment with others in my class to see what they would say. There were 4 people. Their results of how many colors they saw were: 39, 52, 90, and 24. It was fascinating to see what other see in this rainbow that includes only 39 colors. And it was a huge surprise for the ones who had more than the amount of colors actually seen. I think one of them counted the amount of boxes and the other saw there were fades in the boxes. During our freshman year we had Monet projects and I think since we focused a lot of our attention on color, it was hard for us to understand how many colors there actually were, but to know the majority of the population wouldn't see all 39 astounds me.
